By the end of the year after a few group catch ups we decided to meet up on our own. From there we both knew that we were quite interested and had strong feelings that were mutual. We became “official” in November 2017. Fast forward through many fun dates, adventures and a couple wonderful overseas trips, I was surprised with a birthday trip to Queenstown. I was told we were going on a walk up Queenstown Hill to look at the sculptures and the nice view. It was a perfectly clear day and at the top after admiring the view I turned around to find him grabbing my hand and then getting down on one knee. As you can imagine I said YES and then the planning began once we got home. We chose to get married at Turanga Creek Vineyard in Whitford, Auckland as we wanted a venue that could accommodate both inside & outside flow and host both the ceremony & reception in the summer season. They had multiple gorgeous spots for wedding photos as well as providing the option for a rainy-day ceremony (which we luckily did not need to use). Dress shopping was very overwhelming but I loved the experience nonetheless. Bridal Brilliance could order in my dream dress by Stella York as well as stocked dresses for two of my Bridesmaids. Jaiss Fashion provided my other Bridesmaid with a custom-made suit. Belinda & her staff were so accommodating and friendly which made visits and organizing a pleasant and exciting experience. Daisies Sewing Studio helped make the final adjustments to my dress and when it came to the final try and take home day, I was absolutely in awe – I felt like a Princess just like in the movies. Hubby and his Groomsmen were handsomely kitted out with suits from Rembrandt. I managed to find a stunning ring from Walker & Hall that fitted alongside my engagement ring perfectly and hubby also got his from there too. We were fortunate enough to have a lot of friends that could help us out on our special day including flowers, cake, music & photo/videography. One of my sister’s best friends was a celebrant so it was nice to have her marry us as she’d known me since I was in primary school. After lots of planning and organizing (and Covid lockdowns) our day finally arrived in January 2021 where our closest family & friends joined us both in person & online. I was so calm the entire time right up until the last corner to the venue. The butterflies kicked in but I was still so excited for the next chapter in my life – I knew we had special people looking over us and loved ones around to make this a memorable day. The ceremony ran to plan and I’m so glad our overseas family could also watch our special day. My nephew & hubby’s best friend were our signing witnesses – and just like that we were officially husband & wife! An afternoon filled with lawn games, canapes and drinks (and a lolly table!) was followed by a scrumptious buffet dinner. After our yummy cake was cut we wowed our guests with a well rehearsed dance and then proceeded to dance the night away. As soon as it started, our wedding day was over. Many people say it’ll go by so quickly so just enjoy every moment – they were right and I am so happy with how everything went. I am so happy with the entire wedding experience right from the start to the finish, especially all the tiny memorable details. We have gorgeous photos & an emotional video to remember it all by and I wouldn’t change a thing. I now have an amazing husband and best friend for life and another family to love & be loved by. Our adventures are still continuing and our journey together is as exciting as ever especially with the addition of our little baby boy. |

My little fairytale My husband and I met at the gym we both worked at. We both loved fitness and shared the passion hence why we got along easily since the beginning. When we got engaged I did some research
