Naranda & Scott

Our Wedding & Love Story

Scott and I met while we were out clubbing in Auckland. At the time, I was studying in Wellington, and Scott was studying in Auckland, so we had a long-distance relationship throughout university. After graduation, we decided to take the plunge and move in together. Fast forward 10 years, and Scott finally popped the question during a 3-day tramping trip on Stewart Island.

We tied the knot at Matakana Country Park. Our ceremony was held in front of St. Andrew’s Church, and the reception took place at The Stables. We were drawn to this venue because of its amazing potential for a DIY wedding, and the staff were so lovely to work with. We can’t thank Alex, our wedding coordinator at The Stables, enough. Her help with the planning and ensuring everything ran smoothly on the big day was invaluable.

Scott and I both love listening to and dancing to live bands, so we chose Off The Wall. They brought the party to our wedding. Every song was on point, and the dance floor was packed all night. Everyone, from young to old, loved the performance.

All of our floral arrangements and bouquets were created by my wonderful mother-in-law, and the wedding cake was made by my brother-in-law’s wife, from Olive Jay Cakesin Whangamata (Instagram: @olivejaycakes). Their work made the day even more special.

Our photographer was Kat from QSL Creative. She was incredibly friendly, fun, and professional. Kat made us feel completely at ease in front of the camera, and she did an outstanding job with both our engagement and wedding photos.

Hair and makeup were done by Jess from J Silk Weddings in Point Wells, Matakana. She was so professional and did an absolutely beautiful job for all my bridesmaids and me.

My experience with Bridal Brilliance was easy and relaxing. I booked my appointment through their online booking system, selecting a few dresses I wanted to try on. On the day of my visit, I came in with my sister-in-law to try on all the dresses and styles. The ladies were so friendly, helpful, and patient, allowing me to try on as many dresses as I liked and even retry them multiple times until I found “the one.” From start to finish, the service and experience were seamless. I would highly recommend Bridal Brilliance to all future brides.
